[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This Sunday our Green Gully Senior Men kick off their NPL campaign for 2020 away against the newly promoted St Albans Saints SC.

Our 2019 Tony Vella Medallist, Jeremy Walker, will lead the Seniors into another season, accompanied by Jay Davies as vice captain.

Stephen Downes and Stevie Laurie return as coach and assistant coach for 2020, with the addition of new team manager Fred Peris.

The outfit welcomes new recruits Shaun Timmons, Kristian Brymora, Aaron Schille, Mamadi Kamara, Stefan Nigro and 2019 NPL Rising Star, Nicholas Georgopoulos, with the hope of adding a bit more depth to our line-up.

Sadly, we capped off last year’s season with an 0-1 loss at home to the Bentleigh Greens in the Elimination Final.

Before the upset we were presenting well at fourth on the table, second for goals scored, third for goal difference and third for win-loss ratio.

With an impressive 2019 run in the books, the boys will look to build and learn from last year’s work with a win against our reemerging cross-town rivals.

For the first time since 2017, St Albans will compete in the top league after defeating Melbourne Victory 2-1 in the NPL2 VIC Grand Final.

The last time our two clubs faced in the NPL,  we snared a 4-0 win at home and 0-1 win with the away pressure.

This week, we plan on continuing the trend to kick off our 2020 right.

Paint the stands green this Sunday and show the full force of our Green Machine as we set off for Round 1 of our 2020 NPL campaign.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
