2024 SENIOR PRESENTATION NIGHT WRAP

Taylor Schrijvers and Josh Hope were both rewarded for their brilliant seasons by being named the joint winners of the Tony Vella Medal at Green Gully’s senior presentation night on Saturday.

Schrijvers was a constant in the heart of defence for Gully this season and put in a string of important performances throughout the season, namely against Avondale where he scored the winner in their 1-0 victory at Avenger Park.

2024 marked Schrijvers’ second campaign at the club, and also saw him named captain. The recognition was a fitting reward for a hugely consistent season, which was only curtailed in the final weeks by an unfortunate injury.

Hope – on the other hand – finished the year as Gully’s top scorer with six goals, playing an important role in a number of our games this season.

Never one to shirk the responsibility on his shoulders, Hope was once again a supremely consistent performer for Gully, fulfilling a number of roles during the campaign as injuries hampered our side.

His brilliant year was also recognised by his peers as he claimed the Players’ Player of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Jake Jurica was awarded the David Hogben Medal as the Under 23s Player of the Year following a sensational year in their title winning season.
