The club is pleased to announce that David Chick has recommitted as Senior Men’s Head Coach for season 2026.
A highly experienced manager across multiple Victorian clubs, Chick was appointed after a difficult 2024 NPL Victoria season for Gully. Under his stewardship, the side has bounced back to finals contention, improving from a slow start to finish 8th despite injuries to key players.
Memorable home victories over Dandenong Thunder, South Melbourne (the club’s first win over Hellas since 2018) and a 5-2 demolition of eventual premiers Avondale stand out as the high watermarks of an up-and-down campaign.
“It was an enjoyable year,” said Chick, speaking at the club’s end of season presentation night.
“Unbelievable support from the club, and a dedicated playing group who worked really hard.
“We probably fell a little bit short, but we definitely built a really good foundation for next season. The culture in the dressing rooms is brilliant, and we’re looking forward to getting back and going again.
“We know what it takes, we know what we need to do to try and make ourselves more consistent – we believe in ourselves.”
Please join us in wishing ‘Chicky’ and his coaching team well, as the club looks to build on the progress made in 2025.
