Green Gully SC Re-Signings: How the Senior Squad is shaping up ahead of the 2024 Season

As we approach the festive season, Green Gully Soccer Club’s social media has been abuzz with the news of several key players re-signing for the 2024 campaign.

The club has been busy securing a mix of rising stars and experienced players, ensuring a balanced and dynamic team for the upcoming season.

Rising Star Promoted
The club is thrilled to kick off our senior player announcements with the promotion of Elioan Kifle to the senior squad. After a standout season with our Under-21s, where he claimed the prestigious David Hogben medal, Elioan made his senior debut and showed great promise. His elevation to the senior team is a testament to his hard work and talent.

Key Players Secure Their Spots
We’re excited to welcome back our star goalkeeper, Liam Driscoll, for his third season. Liam’s journey from Reading FC’s to becoming one of the finest goalkeepers in the NPL Victoria is a story of dedication and skill.

In defence, Taylor Schrijvers will continue to bring his robust style of play into the new season. With over 170 tackles last season, Taylor has proven himself as a critical component of our backline.

Midfield and Attack Strengthened
Midfield maestro Gianluca Iannucci, known for his unmissable flair and spectacular goals, is set to dazzle the Green Gully Reserve once again.

Alongside him, Josh Hope, an attacking midfielder with a keen eye for goal, will don the green and white for his third season.

Last season’s top scorer Pierce Waring is back and ready to bang in another bagful of goals this season, with the former Melbourne Victory striker looking sharp in pre-season training.

In the attacking department, forward Adolph Koudakpo will look to build on his eight goals from last season.

Meanwhile pacey right winger Mohamed Adam, with his experience from Western Sydney Wanderers and stints overseas, is primed for a significant impact.

Promising Talents to Watch
The club is proud to continue nurturing homegrown talent. Young defender Justin Spiteri, capped at the under-19 level with Malta, has shown immense potential and dedication. Similarly, 19-year-old defender Garang Arou and 21-year-old Leighton Lauton are set to continue their impressive development.
