It’s the great battle of the Greens!
Tonight our Senior group kick-off against Bentleigh Greens at Kingston Heath Complex.
With our boys sitting only two points behind them in 8th place a win will put us ahead and should give us a boost against some lower placed sides over the next month. Though it may not be easy.
Bentleigh have done well to record back to back victories over the last fortnight while we’ve settled for consecutive draws. They are currently challenging for a top-four spot and were the team to beat in recent years.
Regardless of the result, last week was a hard fought clash for our boys. We held on to the very end and managed to take away some points despite the extreme pressure. Before that we picked up points against Dandenong, but admittedly it’s been sometime since we managed a win.
So far Bentleigh have recorded strong results against Oakleigh (1-0) and Heidelberg (1-1), who sit equal second.
The last time we faced was in the 2019 NPL Elimination Final where we lost 0-1. We’ll be eager to get some revenge tonight and secure a spot above them.
