Tonight our Seniors make the trip to Lakeside Stadium to take on South Melbourne for Round 20 of the Victorian National Premier League.
In our last bout South just got the better of us, converting in the 83rd minute to win 1-0. While last time both teams were flying high, today’s match up will be about making big strides up the ladder for both teams.
In truth South’s last month has been a little flat, collecting four draws and one loss from their last five NPL games. The FFA Cup has been a different story having made it to the Round of 32 after defeating Oakleigh Cannons in penalties.
Our last five games haven’t been much better but we’re showing great promise against quality sides. Last week we got some reward for that effort, defeating Altona Magic 4-0.
Alex Salmon and Mamadi Kamara have both been in hot form in front of goals, scoring three each last week in the FFA Cup and NPL games respectively.
The intent is clear, we want to play finals. A win against South Melbourne should shake up the league and put some other clubs on notice. When we play our best, we’re a tough side to face.
Come down to Lakeside Stadium at 7:30pm to watch us take on one of the league giants.
