PREVIEW | R4: SENIOR MEN V HEIDELBERG UNITED

Report by Brandon Hutchinson.

Our Senior Men cap off their third consecutive home game this week when they face Heidelberg United on Friday.

Last week Avondale FC proved better, scoring two goals in the first half to effectively shut down the remainder of the game.

Despite the two goal concession, Jerrad Tyson stood tall against aggressive opposition, preventing what could have been a larger margin.

Our second half showed some of our better football, keeping our opposition scoreless while putting pressure on Avondale’s defensive end through the likes of Stefan Nigro, Jordan Lampard and Jeremy Walker.

Last week, Heidelberg had success at home following a 3-1 win over Altona Magic.

Adrian Zahra was big in the win, scoring two goals off penalties.

The two weeks preceding Round 3 saw Heidelberg land a 3-2 loss to Oakleigh and a 0-3 win against South Melbourne.

The Warriors finished atop the table last year with 17 wins, four draws and five losses before being eliminated by 2019 Champions, Bentleigh Greens, in the semi-finals.

Though against us they struggled to break through, conceding a 4-2 loss at Green Gully before closing our fixtures at 1-1 at Olympic Village.

We proved ourselves better in 2019, so the plan is to keep history repeating

Join us on Friday night and let our Senior Men show you what they can do.

GO GREEN.
