Right now, our Under 21’s are the team to beat. They sit atop the table, undefeated and ahead on goal difference (10) with our players, Stefan Stojcevski and Zoran Sljivic, both leading the league in goals with four apiece.
Last week the boys really showed what they can do, defeating Heidelberg United 6-1 in front of the home crowd.
Jack Cotsanis kicked his first for the season, with Stefan and Zoran joining in with two each of their own.
This week they come up against Oakleigh Cannons – arguably their toughest opponent of the year. Unlike their other competitors, Oakleigh have earned more than a single win.
So far they have defeated Avondale (4-1) and Heidelberg (4-0), both teams we have defeated as well.
They came up short against South Melbourne in Round 2 (0-2) and again last week against Altona (1-4).
Last year Oakleigh managed to get the best of us (3-0) but that was a different time.
Tomorrow our boys are set on cementing themselves in top position with a big win on the road.
