PREVIEW | R8: Dandenong City V Seniors

Tonight our Seniors head to Frank Holohan Complex to take on Dandenong City in hope to pick up a much needed win.

At the moment Dandenong City are facing relegation. They are bottom of the league, winless and nine points away from escaping.

Last week they drew 2-2 against another winless side in Altona Magic – a result which they conceded in the 94th minute to keep them on the bottom of the table. Prior to that they lost 2-1 to both Oakleigh and Heidelberg.

Though unlike some other teams in their position, Dandenong remains competitive. A lot of their losses have been by a single goal, and there hasn’t been a game this year where they haven’t scored.

Their losses to two top-four sides have been by small margins, and despite being last, they have somehow kicked more goals than us this season.

Their back third could likely use some work and I believe that’s where we’ll take advantage.

Last week was not the result we wanted but we fought to the very end against a quality side.

While we’re middle of the table right now, we still sit two wins clear of dropping and just a single win from securing a top-four position.

We’re eager to take advantage of this opportunity and secure our place as a top-three side. With time, that position will become clearer.
