Tonight our Under 21’s take on Port Melbourne at JL Murphy Reserve. Unlike most fixtures our 21’s will immediately follow our Seniors tonight at 7:30pm, rather than opening for them.
Port Melbourne have started much like our Under 21’s. Despite not either team getting the win last week, both appeared to perform well against quality opposition. Port Melbourne lost 2-3 to Hume City last in Round 2 who themselves remain undefeated, while our 21’s finished 2-3 in a tough contest with Altona.
We have a lot of new players in our Under 21’s squad, as is true for Port Melbourne. Based on current form, no fair predictions can be made for how the game might play out. Though if last week is any indication, we know our boys will fight to the very end. They fought hard last week despite trailing for much of the game, and in the end came very close.
We look forward to seeing them run out again and showing more of that fighting spirit.
