S2022 RD15 MATCH REVIEW | NPL MEN | GREEN GULLY SC V ALTONA MAGIC

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Coming into this week after the disappointment of an opportunity missed at home against Oakleigh our boys were hungry to get back to winning ways against Altona Magic.

This week presented several opportunities within the squad due to suspensions, Josh Hope coming back into the XI after some strong performances off the bench and we saw the debut of young Justin Spiteri who earned a spot amongst the substitutes. A well-deserved selection off the back of some strong performances with the 21’s.

Right from the off our boys played with confidence which saw both teams pushing forward to create many early chances. We saw Luc Jeggo continue his goal scoring form with the opener and Yared Abetew getting his first of the season after 35 mins.

The second half began much as the first had ended which saw the boys continuing to make chances. Alex Salmon and Josh Hope both finding the back of the net with good finishes saw us see out the game with Altona continuing to push forward and create late chances.

A professional team performance with contributors all over the park. We now turn our attention to preparing for Port Melbourne this Friday in what will be another opportunity to strengthen our position in that top 4.
