Tomorrow night in round 18 of NPL Victoria our seniors are back at Green Gully Reserve to take on Avondale FC.
The last time we faced was in Round 5 at Avenger Park which saw Gully lose that fixture 1-0 The result didn’t go our way on the last outing but the effort and intensity was definitely there.
Last week Avondale hosted Hume City in a thrilling game which saw them win in stoppage time 4-3. Currently sitting one point behind Gully on the table in fifth spot and with them currently being four matches unbeaten with two wins and two draws.
Gully has been in great form over the past week with a 4-0 win over Whittlesea in the Australia Cup and then continuing that form into the league with a 4-1 win over Dandenong City with talisman Alex Salmon finding himself a brace and Abetew and Kamara also finding the back of the net. As the table stands we are currently three points behind third placed Port Melbourne, we would be looking to push into the top three and solidify ourselves in the top four with the table tightening up on the backend of the season.
Avondale is going to be a tough opponent tomorrow with recent results showing that they fight until the end. We hope to see you all there at 8:00pm.
