Avondale have played in multiple finals at AAMI park in recent times which makes these games the ones we can’t wait to play in. We know in-house what we are capable of and we were hungry for this game.
A brilliant start saw us control every aspect of the game. We looked confident, hungry and we had an air of confidence in our high tempo approach. We could have made it 2-0 before the break however it wasn’t to be from the spot.
In the second half we knew a good Avondale team couldn’t continue the way they were going and they would need to change something, which they did. That being said the group stuck to the task all the way to the 90th minute then we got unlucky.
If I’m honest I felt on the whole we deserved to win the game and were strong on the night. We know we can beat anyone on our day so I’m looking forward to the top of the league in South on Friday. They are the games we see this gully group stand up.
