The first half against Dandenong City was worth the entry fee alone. The boys started by employing simple effective football with the tempo exactly how we wanted to start.
We should have been leading by half time. If I can be at all critical in the first 45 minutes, we just need to be more clinical in the final third.
A classy penalty saw us 1-0 up by half time which was great however I feel the break hindered our rhythm of play. We were a little stretched in the second half and over played at times which made for a tight finish to the game.
We secured three points to keep us at the pointy end. We are here to win games for Gully so we will be happy with the win but the hard work continues as we look to face a tough opponent this week in Avondale.
We’ll be ready for the challenge.
