Unlike our Seniors, today’s clash with Melbourne Knights will be our Under 21’s first match at home since Round 4. Last week our boys finished their three week stint on the road after facing Avondale, South Melbourne and Bentleigh away from GG Reserve.
Our boys suffered a 2-0 result against a strong Bentleigh Greens last week. We were without captain and keeper Tomas Josifovski for yet another week as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury and were also without the firepower up front provided by Stefan Stojecevski as he also recovered following a clash the week before.
This week’s opposition is coming off a win against a second-placed Hume City, handing them their very first loss for the season. In the week prior the Knights beat a lower-placed St Albans Saints, both teams at 1-0.
Prior to the last fortnight they faced a run of bad results, losing four games in succession, with three being very close. They are looking to turn it around, having climbed a spot above us on the table as a result. We respect the Knights’ capability on the field and will be prepared to endure a tough contest today at 3pm.
Let’s go Gully!
