Ashton Ahluwalia Re-Signs With Green Gully SC for 2026 NPL Victoria Season
Green Gully SC is pleased to confirm the re-signing of Ashton Ahluwalia for the 2026 NPL Victoria season.
The dynamic midfielder returns after an initial stint at the club was heavily disrupted by injury, limiting his ability to make a sustained impact. After featuring twice early in the campaign, Ahluwalia’s season was cut short, bringing a premature halt to what had promised to be an exciting chapter at Green Gully.
Now fully recovered and back in full training, the 24-year-old re-enters the squad with renewed focus and an opportunity to finally show the qualities that brought him to Green Gully from Altona Magic.
Ahluwalia is a versatile midfield option, capable of operating as a holding midfielder, box-to-box presence, or advanced creator, while also providing cover at right-back when required. His energy, technical quality and tactical awareness add valuable depth to the midfield group.
Originally from Sydney, Ahluwalia relocated to Melbourne to pursue his career in the Victorian top flight and quickly established himself at Altona Magic, where his performances earned a move to Green Gully. While injury delayed his momentum, the club has remained confident in his ability and value within the squad.
Under the guidance of head coach Stephen “Chicky” Downes, Ahluwalia is expected to play an important role in the midfield rotation throughout the 2026 campaign, complementing both returning players and new additions.
