Green Gully are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Woerndl for the 2026 NPL Victoria season.
A left-sided defender, Woerndl joins Gully from Melbourne Knights, having spent three seasons with Altona Magic, culminating in their run to finals football in 2023.
Woerndl originally hails from Sutherland Shire in NSW, and played academy football at both Western Sydney Wanderers and Ipswich Town in the UK.
“I’ve known Chicky and Craig since my Altona days. We got along well and had a good connection,” says Woerndl.
“We always talked about possibly working together, and finally the opportunity came up.”
“When the coach calls and gives you a lot of confidence and praise, it’s something you can’t say no to.”
Gully fans can expect full commitment from the 26-year-old whenever he steps on the pitch.
“I’m passionate, I work hard, I give everything for the badge,” he says.
“I’ll give 100% every game. I’ll never give up and I’ll fight till the very end.”
Woerndl joins Michael Weier, Lucas Simao and Taofiq Olomowewe as new acquisitions ahead of the 2026 NPL Victoria season – with further announcements still to come.
