This past Saturday our 21s played against a persistent Altona Magic squad. Despite going 2-1 up at halftime the boys started off slow and not of the expectations of head coach Ted, but slowly into the first half it got better with some nice link up play between the midfield and wingers.
Again, the start was slow with Magic equalising early on into the second half. Throughout the second half it was back and forth. Our keeper Tomas Josifovski made some class saves to keep us in the game and likewise for the Magic keeper.
In the last 5 minutes, the goal we were pushing for came via some nice build up play and a smart finish by Nick Giarrizzo. In a quick counter attack and a class ball over the top the twins Goran and Zoran Sljivic sealed the game 4-2.
A lot of positives but also a lot to work on as we come up against a strong South Melbourne side this weekend.
