Tonight our Seniors make the trip to Jack Edwards Reserve where they will face Oakleigh Cannons FC for Round 5 of the NPL season.
Last week was not the result we wanted. Despite controlling for much of the first half, even securing a 1-0 lead, our boys lost hold in the second.
Oakleigh experienced an opposite outcome in the match against Altona, collecting their very first win of the season (1-0). On paper their season might appear average so far, but it should be noted that they managed to break even against Heidelberg (1-1) and South Melbourne (1-1) – the latter who remain undefeated and the former, Heidelberg, who handed us our first loss last week.
However, in Round 1 Oakleigh pulled up short against Avondale (2-1), a team we had arguably our best win against thus far against.
Though it takes time to find your feet and after last week we found out first hand that upsets are possible.
At the moment we boast the league’s leading goal scorer in Alex Salmon. We’d say goal kicker but he’s managed all THREE off his head.
We’re confident that we can regain momentum and reconsolidate our position on the table.
Join us tonight at 8:30pm at Jack Edwards Reserve to witness us reclaim our number one spot against the Oakleigh Cannons FC.
