This afternoon our Under 21s will complete their first trip through the fixture as they take on Dandenong Thunder for the first time in nearly two years.
While we didn’t get the result last week, the fight back in the second half was first class. The last two weeks our 21s have been extremely unlucky not to at least share points.
Last week, Dandenong Thunder managed to secure a tie but conceded a late goal against an undermanned Altona Magic.
The week prior they defeated Oakleigh Cannons 2-1 and before that Heidelberg 3-0. Based on these last three weeks, Dandenong is a serious threat.
They stand to take our position if they defeat us, with three additional teams also in similar contention.
It’s too close for comfort on the bottom end of the table. We need to do our best to distance ourselves from danger and reclaim a top spot.
We’re a strong side and continue to show heart despite some unfortunate results.
