This week your Green Gully Cavaliers take on Hume City in our Round 9 clash of NPL Victoria.
Last Friday night our seniors played Moreland City The match began with Gully scoring early on after a good build-up and a great ball from Pierce Waring found Gianluca Iannucci. Moreland equalized in the 29th minute with a deflected shot from Fletcher Fulton, but we regained the lead just before halftime through Pierce Waring after Leighton Lauton won the ball. Moreland was awarded a penalty just before the break, which they scored. In the second half we had a strong performance with Alan Gerez and Tyler Vecchio finding the net with Josh Hope scoring a double.
Last round Hume City faced off against South Melbourne which saw both sides share the points as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Our 21’s also played Moreland City with Gully starting strong with Ilce Petrevski scoring two goals early on with Elioan Kifle providing assists to both goals. Moreland quickly responded with a goal however, Gully managed to restore their lead just before halftime with a deflected shot from Ilce Petrevski. In the second half, Moreland equalized again through a deflected cross into the area in the 72nd minute. But Gully secured a win in the 88th minute as Samuel De Los Santos Myles assisted Brodie Sposato to score and secure all three points.
Hume City’s 21 side also played against South Melbourne which saw South win that fixture 5-1.
