PREVIEW | R11: Seniors V Eastern Lions

Tonight lions will clash in the NPL for the first time. One green, the other red.

The Eastern Lions have made the trip to Gully to take on our Seniors for Round 11 of the NPL season for the first time in the club’s history.

We are in desperate need of points, having unfortunately gone a month without a victory (0-2-2).

Comparatively, the Lions’ last four weeks have been tough also. From four games, they have recorded three losses and a draw, of which the latter came against a winless Altona Magic.

However, the two wins they have came against Hume City (7th) and Port Melbourne (8th), both of which sit above us.

They’ve also managed a 1-1 result against league heavy-weight, South Melbourne, so they’re far from uncompetitive.

It is our hope that we get back to our winning brand that etched our name in the opening rounds. With the right mindset, we can be anything.

As for tonight, this game could be a lot of things, but one thing is for sure that Jimmy Williams will be in all our thoughts. It’s because of him and his team that we get to play each other today, his clubs both old and new. We are here today because of Jimmy.

We hope for a good contest tonight. Best of luck to both teams. Kick off at 8pm.
