Tomorrow our Under 21’s set their sights on Dandenong City for Round 8 of the NPL season.
Admittedly, last Saturday had not gone our way. A loss is never easy to take, let alone 4-1.
However the boys have been given a golden opportunity to get back their winning spirit as they take on the bottom of the table.
With one win and six losses, it is clear that Dandenong’s season has been less than impressive thus far.
Currently, they claim the highest goal deficit at minus 12 and have recorded only three goals across seven rounds.
Comparatively we hold third position with an equal league-high 18 goals. Granted last week didn’t represent what we’re capable of but we will amend that tomorrow.
A positive result should allow us some momentum before we take on top-three contenders, Melbourne Knights and Bentleigh Greens.
Granted it is never wise to underestimate your opponent. Dandenong could easily surprise us, just as they did against fifth placed Hume City (1-0).
Regardless when we look at both seasons, we are right to be optimistic. Tomorrow we will know for sure.
We hope to see you down Frank Holohan Complex at 6:30pm to see our boys lead in the night.
