Today at 3pm our under 21’s take on Heidelberg United at home.
Last week our boys were dealt a tough contest against league heavyweights, Hume City, facing a 3-0 first half at Green Gully Reserve. After the break our 21’s found some resolve and did well
to take back two and threaten to take the game. Hume showed their class in the end, scoring their fourth to close out the game.
The boys may not have won but they were headstrong when the chips were down. We have been without a few major names this season and have topped our squad with a lot of under 18 players, who themselves have been major to the spirit of the team.
Our opponents this week are at the bottom of the table. Compared to their bottom-four counterparts they have been much more dangerous in front of goals, equal to that of fifth place Port Melbourne for goals scored (17) which exceeds our 13.
Key to that is their 7-0 victory over Dandenong City last week, which has definitely put the team in the spotlight heading into this week.
We have no doubt our team will be prepared and ready to take on any challenge Heidelberg might bring.
Be sure to get around the boys at 3pm.
