A game of two halves which were both positive in different ways. In the first half we knew Heidleberg would come out full of confidence after a big 6-0 win last round. We were disciplined and soaked up the pressure professionally as a unit. We created good chances in the first half but went into the break 0-0. The belief in the rooms at half time was clear to see, combined with some match specific instructions the boys took it to another level in terms of tempo football and transition play.
In the second half we looked superb. The offensive work was that of a professional level and the most pleasing thing for me was we were determined to keep them at zero and we did exactly that. We are now at six games unbeaten in the cup and league.
We have always been crystal clear in-house of this group’s potential and especially on Friday it was clear to see in difficult conditions. We are back in the six which I believe has only motivated this group to push even harder now in the second half of the year.
