Tomorrow night at Green Gully Reserve our seniors take on the Port Melbourne Sharks in Round 16 of NPL Victoria.
The last time we faced was in Round 3 at JL Murphy Reserve both teams were slow out of the gate with not many chances happening from either side before the break. Once conceding the first goal Gully lost its drive and Port Melbourne continued to push and created a chance on the break to see the Sharks win 2-0.
Last week Port Melbourne lost to 12th placed Hume City 2-1. They have won 3 out of their last 5 fixtures and are equal points with Green Gully currently sitting in 4th only below on goal difference.
Our Seniors are coming off a great run of form currently sitting in 3rd place and winning 4 out of our last 5 fixtures. Last week we travelled to Altona Magic which saw a professional team performance with Luc Jeggo, Yared Abetew, Alex Salmon and Josh Hope all finding the back of the net as we won the fixture 4-0. Another positive saw the debut of Justin Spiteri off the bench.
Port Melbourne is going to be a very tough opponent this week as it is 3rd versus 4th with both teams pushing to solidify themselves in the top 4. Join us under the lights at Green Gully Reserve at 8pm
