St Albans is always a tough place to visit and bring home points but we knew what to expect and we started strong.
Unfortunately our boys had a lot of chances go unrewarded, so much so that we might have had the game in hand before the break if a couple had followed through. Not long after the first whistle it was a cool finish from Hope that saw us secure our first.
As the half progressed we were putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves by not finishing in front of goal and on the other end a lapse in concentration led to their equaliser just before the break.
The second half was not as good as our first, nor was it an improvement for St Albans.
However, out of possession we were focused and kept them at bay. A lot of teams will come to Churchill Reserve and not take points but we did. This puts us in the positive end for April so we look forward to improving more from here.
Busy week ahead with Hume City and preparations for the Australia Cup on the following Tuesday so get down to Green Gully Reserve on Friday and support us as we approach another big fortnight of football.
