S2023 RD23 | MATCH REVIEW | NPL U21 | GREEN GULLY SC VS MELBOURNE KNIGHTS

Green Gully found an important win against Melbourne Knights as we won 2-1.

In the 3’ minute Melbourne Knights opened the scoring through J. Mabok, Gully stayed composed with Brayden Portelli playing an excellent ball to find Greg Siamoa one on one with the Knights keeper to heat him with a great finish to put the game level in the 29’. Knights were reduced to 10-men, following this Gully took advantage of the situation with Nicolas Valenzuela managing to score directly from a corner to put us ahead before the break.

In the 48’ Elioan Kifle found himself in behind the Knights’ defence and made no mistake with his finish to extend our lead early. In the 66’ it was Greg Siamoa again this time finding the angle on the edge of the area and placing the ball bottom right. Gully was not done there with Jake Jurica finding himself on the end of a loose ball in the area to head it into the back of the net and secure all three points for Gully.

Gully now looks to continue on this Saturday as we face Dandenong Thunder at George Andrews Reserve.
