Despite the result, the 21s showed some really positive signs in the weekend’s loss to Port Melbourne.
Shoutout to Thomas Simic from the U16 squad for stepping up and making some unbelievable saves in the first half despite our slow start. Being 2-0 down at half time the boys knew they needed to turn it around.
From the get-go it was an all-out attack forcing the Port Melbourne keeper into some tough saves. Despite our efforts, it was a quick counterattack from Port which made it 3-0 to them.
From here it was chance after chance for the boys who managed to get two goals from Matthew Cardwell and Goran Sljivic. In the end, we were very unlucky to not get at least a point.
We move on and build from this and look forward to this weekend’s game against Dandenong Thunder.
