It was a great away win last weekend, defeating Avondale FC 2-0.
The boys started off real slow and took awhile to really get into the game.
Fortunately our defence was switched on and kept us in the match. I’d like to give special mention to our goal keeper Tomas Josifovski, who yet again had an outstanding game.
At half-time, the score was 0-0 and Avondale had the better of us in the first.
I feel we dominated in the second half and created numerous opportunities. Though the Avondale keeper made great saves, we still managed to score early from a corner in the opening minutes of the second half: 1-0 Gully.
Stefan Stojcevski brought the score to 2-0, converting a penalty late in the second half.
Overall I feel this was a game of two halves.
Avondale were quite solid in the first half however we took the second, created many more chances and converted two goals.
Overall I’m really pleased for the boys in their hard work.
We play Heidelberg United this weekend, so while there’s much to improve on, a good team spirit and mental attitude got across this game.
