Tonight football is looking a little different as our Seniors line-up to face Bentleigh Greens at GG Reserve.
Due to COVID restrictions, tonight will be a closed gate event. While we’re disappointed we can’t have you all there, we’re eager to get back to business after missing two weeks in lockdown.
It’s been just under a month since we played at home. Then, against the Magic we picked up one of our best wins of the season. The match that followed against South Melbourne was a tough end to a great start but we shared the points and secured our position on the table for the week.
Bentleigh’s last two rounds were telling. Despite conceding a 3-1 loss to Avondale in the first week they managed to bounce back in the following to defeat fifth-placed Heidelberg 3-0.
Currently they sit in fourth spot with wins equalling second but with a significantly lower goal difference (7) than their top-four counterparts.
A strong month could put us in fair contention for a finals run, but it would need to start soon. We’ve had some excellent patches over the last few rounds but we just need consecutive wins on the board to get the momentum going.
