S2022 RD13 MATCH PREVIEW | NPL MEN | GREEN GULLY SC V DANDENONG THUNDER

Tonight our seniors are once again capping off a big week of football as they play their third game in a week’s period, this time against Dandenong Thunder at home.

Funnily enough our seniors actually played at Dandenong’s home pitch this weekend, but it was to face Doveton Soccer Club who we beat 4-0 to stay alive in the Australia Cup. The result makes it our third consecutive game with a 4-0 margin as a good selection of our players continue to hit the board.

Mamadi Kamara added two more goals to his impressive cup run, making it five goals from two games. Josh Hope and Nahuel Bonada also hit the board again after both scoring alongside Luc Jeggo in our Eastern Lion’s clash the weekend prior.

Jeggo has recorded goals two weeks in a row, adding to our scoring potential going forward along with other players like Alex Salmon, Gianluca Iancucci and Matthew Fletcher also continuing to threaten.

Dandenong Thunder also remain in the Australia Cup, remaining undefeated for the last month.

Last week saw a slight decline in their winning streak as they tied 3-3 with Hume City, a team with only one win in 13th place. Regardless, they’ve picked up some impressive results this season, notably Avondale (2-1) and South Melbourne (1-1) – both of whom place in the top-3.

We have no doubt our seniors will be in for quite the contest tonight, but they’ll be ready. Make sure you’re there to check it out at Green Gully Reserve at 8pm.
