S2022 RD13 MATCH REVIEW | NPL MEN | GREEN GULLY SC V DANDENONG THUNDER

Coming into this fixture our squad was riding high on the back of three really professional performances, including one midweek in the Australia Cup against Doveton.

We knew Dandenong Thunder, who are always tough opposition, would come prepared and well drilled and that they did. Our boys started the game on the front foot, initiating the game and setting the tempo for which over the 90 mins proved to be a decisive factor in our win.

In the final 10 minutes of the first half the first signs of what was to come emerged and going into the break we were confident that if we continued to control the game and get at their back four, the game would fall our way.

Our structure behind the ball was strong early on after the break, giving our front third the platform to go to work. It was a top team performance in the second half that saw us home.

Individually the last few weeks have seen some great performances resulting in the collective being unbeaten in nine games and not having conceded in our last 4 league games. Our group should take great belief from that as we look to the second half of the season and Oakleigh Cannons this week.
