S2023 RD10 MATCH PREVIEW | GREEN GULLY SC V MELBOURNE KNIGHTS

This Monday night your Green Gully Cavaliers are back on the road as we travel to Knights Stadium to take on Melbourne Knights in our Round 10 clash of NPL Victoria.

In our last fixture, Gully unfortunately fell short to Hume City with Hume opening the scoring early. Gully equalized in the 18th minute through a deflected shot by Pierce Waring, set up by Gianluca Iannucci. Hume quickly regained their lead with a deflected cross shortly after. In the second half, Gully attempted to level the score again but failed, while Hume secured their victory with a third goal.

Our opponent for this week is Melbourne Knights who last round faced Moreland City which saw the Knights win 4-1 with goals from Corey Sewell, Felipe Sanchez and Gian Albano which has pushed Melbourne Knights into 4th position on the table on 17 points with their being only a two-point gap between these two sides, three points are going to be very important.

Our 21’s face Melbourne Knights this Sunday in our Round 10 clash of NPL Victoria.

Last weekend our 21’s good run of form had come to an end against Hume City as Gully had a good start and scored a good worked chance through Joel Brandt. Both teams continued to attack and create chances in the first half. In the second half, Hume City scored three times and with no response saw them take all three points.

Our opponent for our Gully 21’s this week, Melbourne Knights, played out a high-scoring affair with Moreland City as they won that fixture 5-1. That win has pushed Knight to 7th position and with Gully sitting at 11th it is a very important game for our 21’s as both sides will be chasing all three points to push up the table.
