Green Gully narrowly missed out at Olympic Park on Friday as they lost to Heidelberg 1-0.
Neither side could break the deadlock in the first 45’ with one of Gully’s better chances coming from some great footwork from Leighton Lauton whose shot was blocked.
Going into the second half Gully was tested early with Liam Driscoll pulling off some massive saves to keep the game level. In the 61’ minute, Heidelberg was awarded a penalty which Kaine Sheppard converted. Both Adolph Koudakpo and Gianluca Iannucci were denied by either side of the woodwork which saw Heidelberg take all three points.
Gully now turns their focus towards this Friday as we face St Albans Saints at Green Gully Reserve.
