Green Gully missed out at Green Gully Reserve on Sunday as we lost to Heidelberg United 2-1.
From the opening moments, the midfield from both sides put on a great display as both sides were fighting for possession. The breakthrough finally came in the 38’ minute, courtesy of a sensational piece of individual brilliance from Nahuel Bonada with a chipped effort from outside the box.
Heidelberg came into the second half looking for a goal, which they found in the 63’ minute as a ball came into the area and was headed into the back of the net to tie the game. Gully tried to find a result out of this fixture but it was Heidelberg who threw everything at the game and were rewarded in the 84’ minute to secure all three points.
Gully now turns their focus towards this Saturday as we face St Albans at Churchill Reserve.
