WRAP | R6: Altona Magic V Seniors

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The trip to Paisley Park was going to be a tough one. Forget about where Altona are on the table.

While they haven’t had a great start, they were very active in the transfer market and have assembled a team of quality players.

They really needed to win this one to get their season started. Though we were not going to roll over and hand 3 points away.

With the short turnaround we really needed to iron some things out quickly, which we did.

We also spoke on how we start games and how we can create dominance early, to which before Wednesday night we hadn’t done yet.

This performance wasn’t pretty from us but I knew the next win needed to be just that kind of victory.

We are a great football team because we want to play but we just needed those 3 points on the board to create some momentum again.

On the night credit goes to the group for a focused, motivated and hard working performance.

As for the goal, I personally thought at NPL level the swift forward pass and finish was as good as you will see.

Now it’s my turn to ask the Gully supporters to come out and support us whether it’s home or away. I want to see more of us to become that 12th man.

This week we take on South Melbourne at home next Friday. See you there!
