WRAP | R8: Dandenong City V Seniors

It is always a tough trip to Dandenong on a cold Friday night, but we have a squad that I knew would be up for the challenge no matter what.

We came out and started the game well. We were happy with the opening, which is something we had focused on during the week so that was positive from us.

Dandenong went one up against the run of play but to our groups credit we shrugged that off and continued to show confidence to get back in the contest, which we did and were awarded a penalty.

I must say Alex Salmon was super professional under pressure and hit the perfect penalty to square the game up.

After the goal we grew in confidence and had a few really good passages of play, though unfortunately couldn’t capitalise on.

Then credit must go to City as they definitely stepped up their game and had a good few chances late, to which they also couldn’t take advantage of.

It’s always a tough place to go away. We certainly went there for the win but in the end I’d say a draw was a fair result for the night.

We are looking forward to this Friday against Melbourne Knights. We are back at home and looking for a big effort in front of our home support.
